Strop exists because most barbershops have been optimised for throughput. We made a deliberate choice to go the other way — fewer chairs, longer sessions, barbers who are here because they are skilled and want to stay sharp, not because they needed a job.
The name is the tool used to align a straight razor before each shave. It takes thirty seconds and makes a measurable difference. That is the whole philosophy.
Three things we will not compromise on.
One thing, properly.
We do barbering. Not a menu of wellness add-ons, not a retail floor with a cutting chair tucked inside.
Time without a clock on the wall.
Each appointment is given the time it needs. We do not book back-to-back so that the barber has to rush the previous client out.
The same person, every time.
You build a working relationship with one barber. They learn your hair, your preferences, what you did and did not like last time.
